LOCAL BEACHES & FISHING SPOTS
Werri Beach – Great surfing beach, patrolled during summer holidays for swimming and if your lucky you might spot some dolphins or whales.
Seven Mile Beach – Seven Mile beach and lagoon has been a favourite with local and vistiors for decades … if the surf is flat, hire a paddle board and get out there.
The Farm – Jump in the car and head North 20 minutes up the road and you will arrive at this magical surfing beach at Killalae Surfing Reserve.
Boat Harbour – Ocean rock pool, boat ramp and if your down in January you can participate in the Captain Christie swim to Werri Beach
Kiama Coast Walk – Start on the track at the north end of Werri Beach to Kiama via the ocean side walking track. Remember to take plenty of water and some money for the train ride home – one way from Werri can take anywhere from 2-4 hours.
Bombo Headland – Take a walk through Bombo Headland, among the unusual basalt column – it feels like you are on the moon! Take a look north and you will see Cathederal rocks, Minamurra Headland and Jones Beach.
Minamurra Waterfalls – Discover the beauty of the Minamurra Rainforest. There are walking trails to the waterfalls. You can take The Falls walk and enjoy what the rainforest has to offer.
Breakfast – Take a pick from of the many cafes in town … The Gerringong Deli, Quiet Coffee, Fern Street, Blue Goose or Blue Espresso.
Lunch – Head to another one of the cafes in Gerringong, or jump in the car for a 10 minute drive to Kiama and enjoy lunch at the Hungry Monkey … or head down to the beach to the well known Werri Beach fish shop
Dinner – The Blue Swimmer restaurant is a favourite of Soul or head to Crooked River Winery to watch the sunset before dinner at their restaurant. If your lucky to be staying when the Old School House has its tapas night, it’s a must!
MARKETS & STORES
Kiama Farmers Markets – Held every Wednesday from 3-6 pm (2-5pm in cooler months) with awesome views at Surf Beach in Kiama, come & taste local fresh produce … it is a true farmers market. You find a selection of fresh produce along with seafood, eggs, gelato, cakes, flowers and you can enjoy some street food whilst visiting, the dumplings are awesome.
Gerringong Markets – Held the 3rd Saturday of every month in the park across the road from Soul, you will find a variety of stalls. Grab a coffee and stroll around the market … the golzemes are well worth a try.
Stores – Natural Necessity surf shop is a must to visit, Anna Lou, Searching for Sage and Beyond The Beach for clothes for the ladies. Elka’s Gardens and Franka have some gorgeous pieces from flowers to jewellery. Head into Kiama to one of Soul’s faveourite stores – Deer Willow, gorgeous homewares and furniture.
Kiama – Kiama is always on the cards for a visit when down at Soul. Short scenic drive and you will arrive at the world famous Kiama Blowhole. Lots of shops to check out and spoilt for choice with food options such as Hungry Monkey, Penny Whistlers, Hanoi on Manning.
Berry – Well known quaint village, a great place to visit for a spot of shopping with some of our fave stores being Cabana Joe’s, Moss Nest, Amara Home, Few & Far, Shady Fig and Haven & Space. Head to the gorgeous general store Little Rae’s for a coffee and a bite to eat.
Drives – You are spoilt choice for coastal and countryside drives down South. Head South down to Gerroa, Shoalhaven Heads and up to Kangaroo Valley. Or head North, up to Jamberoo or one of Soul’s fave places is Killalea Surfing Reserve.
Super Car Drive Days – Prancing Horse – Drive a brand new Ferrari, Lamborghini plus a collection of supercars around the south coast. Prancing Horse love designing exhilarating driving experiences combined with the best restaurants. Team Soul can vouch for the experience, definitely something that you wont ever forget!
Beuna Vista Farm –A family farm that runs cooking workshops, based around their passion for from-scratch food and wholefood cooking. Sign up for a hands-on, on-farm cooking experience and finish with a paddock-to-plate lunch.
